Is greatness achieved?

Or is it received?

Chamberlain dithered,

Europe withered.

Peace in our time,

Unimagined crime.

Churchill fought

And defended,

So it ended.

In an age long past

A philosopher asked,

Do we fear to suffer,

Or suffer from fear?
